CHARACTER NAME: Ana-Lucia Cortez.

AGE: 29

WEIGHT: 120 pounds.

PHYSICAL APPEARANCE: Wavy and dark ebony strands that fall right to her mid-back, curling at the ends. Her skin is of an olive complexion because of her Puerto Rican and Dominican heritage. Dark brown eye and a petite, fit frame. Ana-Lucia is 5'5 and weighs 120 pounds. She's slim and looks younger than her age, but not by much. Often seen wearing a black skinny strap tank top and jeans with brown-buckle boots. Sometimes she wears a red button up shirt over the tank and carries a messenger bag to fill with food and supplies.

ANY SIGNIFICANT BELONGINGS: An army knife (militant, antique of course that she found during the 'raid' of Others, when they had a list and stole two children and picked off the stronger ones of the adults.), a thick wooden stick attached to her belt for scouting the grounds of the jungle.

PERSONALITY: Ana is not afraid to get down and dirty, especially if you're being an asshole. At first sight she seems like your average tomboy, knowing the people in the Los Angeles airport (as seen with Dr. Jack Shephard) and can be flirty and optimistic. But one thing that people don't see often, is her nicer side. The side that is maternal and takes risks as a leader. What she does show is that she has an attitude problem and can hold her own. The Latina is both physical and verbal and isn't around to kick ass and take names.

WEAKNESSES: Children, anything to do with hurting a child, harming of others, her emotions get the best of her at times. She gets too flustered and frustrated and goes off physically and verbally on the person that deserves it most, or in her case anyone around her.

SKILLS: Hand-to-hand combat, firearms (being that of the LAPD) and understanding of kids and people in need. (Seems to be a gift even though she's convinced she's not the greatest leader.)

HISTORY: Ana-Lucia Cortez was raised by her mother Teresa Cortez in Los Angeles, California. Her mother, the captain of the Los Angeles Police Department is also Ana's captain as Ana is a police officer in the force. She seems happy, almost a little bit delighted that she's with a man by the name of Danny (her boyfriend) and pregnant. We don't know the whereabouts of her father or the babies gender. In the midst of a burglary, a young man had asked to let him reach for his student I.D, Ana did and was shot instantly killing the baby.

After that it was long and horrible months of psychological and phsycial therapy, in that time Danny had chosen to leave her. Driven by rage and both fear, Ana-Lucia refused to identify the man from the crime scene (that had shot her) his name was Jaso McCormick. Later gunning him down in back of the bar she waited for him at and told him she was pregnant right before murdering him. Cold blood, no prints, tossing that weapon into the garbage. Her mother knows that she's done this, Ana quits the force handing her badge to her mother and goes off to do airport security.

When a man by the name of Christian Shephard approaches her asking for a type of bodyguard work in Sydney, Australia, Ana accepts as the two share a drink and exchange names for one another, as Christian doesn't want to unveil who he is to just a mere stranger. He picks Sarah for her, and she picks Tom for him. After a few days of just drinking and living in separate hotel rooms, he wakes her up at about 2 AM to go out in the pouring rain, only to argue with what seems like his wife who refuses to let him see his daughter. The brunette breaks up the argument and declines Christian the next day asking him to back to where he came from and start over.

When he refuses, Ana has no choice but to get a plane ticket back to Los Angeles. There she meets Jack Shephard (not knowing his last name or Christian and his relation.) flirting with him at the airport bar. When her cell phone rings, the girl tells him they will share the next drink on the plane as they were both flying Flight 815.

Ana-Lucia's seat was 42F in the tail end of the plane. The tail end crashed into the ocean and it was all chaos from there.
